The biggest news of the day is that the Polkadot App is going to be a portal through which you can use many different products.
Sub0 participants got a beta app the first two features: chat and sending money. Both on-chain. You can just connect to someone by username and get started chatting or sending them money.
And these are just sitting at the base of this emerging multi-product app portal
@PeachycoreA I’m suspecting that the chat (additionally?) uses off-chain gossip network because I can’t remember it having lots of latency. Or they used a chain that’s really fast. But in the end chat needs to be cheap, so you want to have as little load as possible on the chain
